“Do The Little Things. It’s All That Matters”

“The duty of a man is to be useful to his fellow men; if possible, to be useful to many of them; failing this, to be useful to a few; failing this, to be useful to his neighbors, and, failing them, to himself: for when he helps others, he advances the general interests of mankind.” ~ Seneca (From Daily Stoic)

Who I Am

I’m Leo Gichuki. I write, build websites, travel across Africa, and spend a lot of time thinking about how people move, live, and create things. This site is where I keep those thoughts in one place. It is part travel journal, part notebook, and part personal archive.

What I Write About

I write about journeys, hiking, unique shelters, building ideas, books, poems, and anything else that helps me understand life more clearly.

Most of my work begins with curiosity. I like knowing how routes connect, how trains move people, how shelters are made, how landscapes shape memory, and how small ideas become real projects. I am drawn to practical things. However, I also care about the meaning behind them.

Travel And Movement

I started travelling more seriously through Kenyan Backpacker. There, I documented routes, costs, places, and stories from the road. That work helped me see travel as more than movement. It became a way to study people, history, landscapes, and the systems that connect places.

Digital Work

I also build digital systems through Quiver Media. That work is about websites, SEO, content, and helping businesses become easier to find and trust. It may look different from travel writing, but the thinking is similar. I care about structure, clarity, usefulness, and things that keep working over time.

Unique Living

Another part of my interest is unique living. I am drawn to domes, cabins, campsites, natural buildings, and outdoor spaces. I like the idea of simple, well-designed places that help people live closer to land, weather, movement, and experience.

The Thread

This site is not only about one topic. It is about the thread between them. Travel, building, writing, outdoor life, and reflection all point to the same question for me.

How can I build a life with more freedom, skill, attention, and ownership? That is the work behind this site. I am learning, testing, documenting, and slowly building a different way to live.
